Water Sensitive Urban Design ( WSUD) and Tree Protection Zones (TPZ) have seen an increase in the requirement for trafficable pavements which are permeable for water drainage. Traditionally precast pourous pavers such as grasscrete or unbonded gravels have been used to achieve such requirements.
Noe there is a new product available which shows enormous promise. Produced by Waterpave there is now a new alternative which shows great promise. Basically it is a resin bonded surface of either aggregate, granulated rubber or a mixture of both, laid over a base of no fines concrete. We have trialled samples in our office and can attest to the porosity of this system. Mor information can be obtained from their website at
